National Eligibility and Entrance Test, commonly known as NEET, is a common entrance test designed to secure admission in MBBS Courses across India. The Medical Council of India is the governing body which organizes NEET UG Exam. The Medical Council of India had decided to have an all India common entrance test for admission of under graduate medical courses and hence they introduced NEET UG Exam where the objective was to set a fair admission procedure for the candidates aspiring career in medical stream.

NEET UG Exam is expected to take in 2500 seats out of which 700 seats are meant for general category students in the year 2013. NEET Exam will have 180 objective type questions. Each question is expected to have four options out of which one correct answer needs to be selected. Examination pattern of NEET UG Exam 2013 consists of Physics, Chemistry & Biology. 60 questions will be from Biology and 45 questions were from Physics & Chemistry each. Duration of the exam is set to be of 3 hours. And it was also published that there will be no negative markings on wrong answers.

NEET Exam 2013 was supposed to be held in the month of May, 2013 but still there is no clarity on the date of examination as per the stalemate on the examination by some states over this common national level entrance examination. It is also being discussed with the board that the exam might be postponed to 2013.
